The complete wedding videographer course is a four day intensive course designed for those who wish to learn the skills of a wedding videographer. Our course is designed to be attended by those who wish to start in the industry, or those who are already working in the industry but wish to learn more. Over the four days you will go through all the different aspects of a wedding videography production. The course provides technical and practical guidance plus tips and advice from experienced professionals.

The course structure.

Day one will start with a realistic approach to the impacts of Health and Safety, as on such an important day where things are constantly moving it is important to understand the legal and moral obligations you have to fulfil. We provide best practice advise and some ways to prevent the unforeseen happening. We then go through the fundamentals, the principles of photography, filming, lighting and sound. This is done with a look at the basics and a realistic approach. We also provide some practical advise on how to get the best from the tools at hand whilst getting the shots you want. Unlike the world of film, on someone's wedding day you only get one opportunity to get your shot.

Day two is an extended day, but starts with a quick recap on the topics of day one. Then we get out and about to visit a wedding venue, the venue location varies across the UK. The objective of day two is to capture footage of a wedding, although obviously we cannot providing one. What is arranged is several couples will be available in wedding attire (actors and actresses) who will be there for us to use as props, whilst we set up for a theoretical wedding shoot. We will look at the day in its individual stages. We start with the bridal preparations, moving on to the ceremony. This will take us through into late afternoon.

After a late lunch, or early dinner we will go through the reception, speeches, first dance and into the evening. Once the individual stages of the wedding day are finished we will if time go through what we have covered on day two. Any footage from the day will be provided on a DVD for you to play with and edit after.

The equipment available for filming on day two will be, Sony Z1s, Canon XH A1, ENG sound mixers, microphones of various types including radio and shotgun mics, plus mobile lighting equipment. If you already have or own camera equipment you are welcome to bring that with you for the recording on day two.

Day three and four are based in the classroom. Over these two days you will work with Final Cut Studio. Each Student will be provided with an Apple computer with Final Cut Studio pre-installed. The main elements of the classes over the two days are, setting up your computer, importing footage from the camera, editing, (this is basics only editing, cuts, transitions, ). You will also cover workflow, exporting and creating a DVD. Time permitting you may briefly look soundtrack pro and colour correction. Although you may already have an apple computer with Final Cut installed, this course comes with specific footage to be edited.

The course is run over four days (usually Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and is held at various locations around the UK. Considerations will be made for a future run course over two consecutive weekends, should enough interest be shown. Please contact us for details.

Course fee for £880.00 per person and places are limited. Over the period of the course lunch in the form of sandwiches, tea and coffee will be provided, this is inclusive in the price.

Note: Our courses have a maximum number of 12 students per class, with normal numbers around 10 students per class. This means that over the period of any one year only 20 - 30 places are available per course in each location. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
